About Acupuncture

For over 3,000 years Acupuncture has been used to treat illness and prevent disease. Acupuncture theory is based on the meridian system, a vast network of pathways in the body through which Qi (energy) flows. The meridians traverse the body and are specifically related to different internal organs and physiological systems. Illness occurs when these meridians become obstructed, deficient, excessive, or out of harmony with each other. The use of very small, sterile needles on precise points connected to the affected meridians restores the smooth flow of Qi and brings the body back into a state of health.
